Look closely. Do you see the ladybug covered with droplets of dew? She is extravagantly draped with nature's beads. She sparkles when the sun arises.
When she sees food on this flower, she will taste it.This is the usual order of nature.
In God's order, it is: taste it, then you will see. I've always loved the verse in Psalm 34:8, "Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him."
Isn't it fascinating that God wants us to "taste" before "seeing?" This goes against our human nature. The wonderful news is that God gives us a new DNA - Divine Nature Attitude, if we allow Him in to our hearts. This new attitude is one of faith. When we are given a situation that requires faith, we need to "taste" the Word of God so that we will clearly "see" the wisdom of our situation with a heavenly perspective.
The second part of the verse gives us a promise that if we trust in God and believe He will keep us safe, He will bless us. What are some of these blessings? I have experienced something so pure and so deep that it is difficult to put into words.
Maybe the photo above with the crystal-encrusted ladybug is a good start. When I have tasted first, one blessing I have seen (experienced) is being draped in deep rest. My mind is crystal-clear. I sparkle with God's protection, which surrounds me with a peaceful energy.
If you can remember the feeling you have after a wonderfully, deep night of sleep, you wake up with an unusual refreshment. The rest I receive from "tasting" first, allows me to "see" a peaceful mind and body throughout my day.
Over time I have experienced this blessing more and more often. My stressful life is still swirling all around me, yet, I am not caught up in the whirlwind. I am standing outside of it, rested and calm.
If you would like to experience this amazing blessing, take the leap! Taste and See that the LORD is good! See how your blessings will sparkle from the Light of God.
